Self-portraits

Got a couple of types of Self-Portraits that were a part of our assessments for this semester at college to show you all today.

The first task we had was to take a photo of ourselves and re-create it as a pencil drawing trying to get as close a likeness as possible.

Here's me and my weird looking hair......
I found getting the getting the character in the eyes was the hardest to do out of the whole drawing.

Also as a part of that same exercise we had to draw mouths and noses as a kind of practise run to prepare for when we tried the Self-Portrait.

The next task we had to do with Self-Portrait's was to create a poster using the photo of ourselves and then editing it in Adobe Photoshop so as to create some sort of interesting visual effect.

I decided to try to attempt to merge my face with that of Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker from Batman:The Dark Knight and then create a poster from that.

Here's how it turned out.

Well that's all for now, hope you enjoyed taking a look.
I really enjoyed making them!

Some testing in Blender

Just posting up a few of things I've been trying out in Blender.

Learnt to make some clouds from a tutorial at Blender Cookie.com.
I was surprised how realistic they ended up.

Here is my first attempt at using fur in Blender on the default Suzanne object, also from a tutorial at Blender Cookie.com (Check them out for some great stuff to do in Blender)

Oh and I also did an EVIL twin brother...hehehe!

Till next time guys :)

Helicopter and Dog/Wolf 3D Models

Hi everyone,

Got some 3D Models here to show you all that I made for an assignment at college. These are pretty much my first proper go at creating and rendering realistic models in the Blender 3D modelling software, using Blender has been great so far and I'm really excited to learn more.

Here's the Dog/Wolf I created for Part 1 of our first assessment
'Create an Organic object in Blender'

Also here is the Helicopter I created for Part 2 of that same assessment
'Create a Geometric object in Blender'

The possibilities are just about endless since you can create basically whatever your want in 3D space.
So awesome!

Anyway hope you enjoy :)

The Beginning.

Hi and welcome to my newly created Blog :)
Here I'll be showcasing my artwork and creations that come from the Media Course at my local College that I started at the beginning of this year.

For the first post I thought that I would start off by putting up some of the my drawings. These are from some of the exercises that our drawing class did early in the year.

This was from the 'Draw your favourite animated character ' Exercise we did.
I chose the warrior from 'The Elder Scrolls Sykrim' game.
I liked the use of shadows and highlights that the original picture had.
Also here is my attempt at drawing a human skull for the 'drawing bones' exercise we did.

Hope you all enjoy my first post!

Comment below and tell me what you think :)
